Kaempferol, a natural flavonoid, is a phyto-derived substance present in tea[1], broccoli, delphinium, witch hazel, grapefruit, Brussels sprouts, and apples. Kaempferol is a yellow crystal with a melting point of 276-278°C, slightly soluble in water, and soluble in a hot mixture of ethanol and ether.
Several pathological studies have found a positive correlation between kaempferol intake and reduced incidence of many diseases, such as cancer and cardiovascular disease. Numerous preclinical studies have shown that kaempferol and some kaempferol glycosides have a wide range of pharmacological activities, including antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, anticancer, cardioprotective, neuroprotective, antidiabetic, antiosteoporotic, antiestrogenic , anti-anxiety, pain relief and anti-allergic effects.

The yellow color of the flowers of Acacia decurrens and Acacia longifolia is derived from kaempferol.

An 8-year study found that kaempferol, quercetin and myricetin may reduce the risk of pancreatic cancer in smokers.

The intake of kaempferol can also reduce the incidence of lung cancer.
