This product is the dried stem and leaves of Lophatherum gracile Bron., a plant in the Poaceae family. Harvest and sun dry before flowering in summer.
[ Description ] This product is 25-75cm long. The stem is cylindrical, with nodes, a light yellow green surface, and a hollow cross-section. Leaf sheath cracking. The leaves are lanceolate, some of which are wrinkled and curled, with a length of 5-20cm and a width of 1-3.5cm; Surface light green or yellow green. The leaf veins are parallel and have transverse small veins, forming a rectangular grid shape, with a particularly prominent lower surface. Lightweight and flexible in texture. Slight breath, light taste.
Sweet, light, and cold. Guixin, stomach, and small intestine meridians.
[ Function and Indications ] Clearing heat and purging fire, relieving restlessness and thirst, diuresis and diuresis. Used for fever diseases
Irritation and thirst, short and painful urination, and sores on the mouth and tongue.

The efficacy and function of light bamboo leaves

1. The antibacterial effect of this water decoction in vitro test has inhibitory effects on Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus hemolyticus.
2. Clinical application has shown that the diuretic effect of light bamboo leaves is weak, but it can significantly increase the content of sodium chloride in urine.
3. The antipyretic effect was induced by subcutaneous injection of 15% yeast suspension in rats, and gavage with light bamboo leaf water extract had an antipyretic effect. For fever in cats and rabbits caused by subcutaneous injection of Escherichia coli, Danzhu Ye also has an antipyretic effect. The antipyretic potency of Danzhu Ye per 2g/kg is 0.83 times that of phenacetin at a dose of 33mg/kg. The antipyretic active ingredients of light bamboo leaves are soluble in water and dilute hydrochloric acid, but insoluble in alcohols and ethers.

Eating methods of light bamboo leaves

1. Light bamboo leaf Congee selects about 30g light bamboo leaf, 50g japonica rice, and a small amount of rock sugar. Rinse the prepared bamboo leaves with clean water, then put them into a pot and add an appropriate amount of water to boil into a soup. After boiling, remove the residue and leave the juice; Wash the japonica rice, put it into the pot, add light bamboo leaf water and clear water, boil it into Congee, and when it is ready, add some rock sugar and stir it evenly before eating.
2. Select an appropriate amount of fresh bamboo leaves for light bamboo leaf tea and air dry them. After drying, cut them into coarse pieces and store them. Take about 10g of dried bamboo leaves each time and put them into a cup. Boil the water and pour it into the cup to brew tea leaves. Let it cool down slightly before drinking.
3. Choose 6 grams of light bamboo leaves, ginseng, and licorice each, 9 grams of Pinellia ternata, 20 grams of Ophiopogon japonicus, 50 grams of gypsum, and 10 grams of glutinous rice for Pinellia ternata bamboo leaf soup. Put the first few ingredients into a pot and boil with water until half of the water level is reached. After removing the residue, pour the glutinous rice into the pot and cook until the rice is cooked. Remove the rice and leave the soup, and take it warm three times a day.
4. Bamboo Leaf Tofu Soup

Prepare 15g of light bamboo leaves, 150g of tofu, and an appropriate amount of sugar. Rinse the light bamboo leaves with clean water, add 100ml of water and simmer for half an hour. Then filter out the light bamboo leaves and leave only the juice for later use. After cleaning the tofu, cut it into 4cm cubes. Pour the tofu into a pot and add the light bamboo leaf juice and an appropriate amount of water. Bring the water to a boil over high heat and simmer over low heat for half an hour. Add an appropriate amount of sugar and stir well before serving.
