1.Natural plant extracts

Due to its special physiological structure, silk lily extract has strong adsorption ability to harmful gases, which can reduce the concentration of ammonia, hydrogen sulfide and other harmful gases in livestock housing, improve the animal feeding environment, improve the health condition and animal production performance, so it is widely studied and applied in animal production. In addition, silymarin saponins affect the phagocytosis of bacteria by the inhibition of intestinal protozoa, making the number of fibrinolytic bacteria in the intestinal tract increase, and more help the fermentation and degradation of cellulose in the latter part of the digestive tract.

According to Chinese applied pharmacology: Silanoside has a broad-spectrum antibacterial effect, it has a strong inhibitory effect on Staphylococcus aureus hemolyticus, Streptococcus hemolyticus, S. pneumoniae, S. dysenteriae, S. typhi, S. paratyphi, Vibrio cholerae, E. coli, S. pyogenes, P. aeruginosa, S. pertussis and their common pathogenic skin fungi.

Silymarin can enhance the immune response by increasing the uptake of antigens by the intestinal mucosa, and can also bind to antigens to form complexes thus avoiding the digestive degradation of antigens.

2. Micro-ecological preparations

Microecological preparations are live bacterial preparations made from beneficial bacteria that constitute the normal flora in animals, called probiotics, which can help digestion, synthesize essential vitamins for animals, fly down pathogenic microorganisms and stimulate the normal development of the immune system, so as to achieve the purpose of promoting animal growth. These bacteria, including many members of the genus Lactobacillus and Streptococcus lactis, can make full use of live bacteria in the body adhesion and reproduction, no pollution to the environment, can improve feed utilization, improve the quality of animal products, reduce fecal ammonia content, purify the water environment.

But the live bacteria are mostly anaerobic bacteria, fermentation is difficult, in the storage and processing process of oxygen, high temperature, etc. are a large number of inactivation, shall not be used with antibiotics, may be inactivated by stomach acid, quality standards need to be unified.

3. Enzyme preparations

Enzyme preparations include various hydrolytic enzymes (digestive enzymes), such as amylase, protease, glucanase, pectinase, hemicellulase, cellulase, glucose oxidase, lysozyme, phytase (for monogastric animals), xylanase, cytolytic enzymes and isomerase. Enzyme preparations can supplement the deficiency of endogenous enzymes in the body and decompose the anti-nutritional factors in the feed, but there is specificity in their function, and usually the application of compound enzymes is better than single enzymes.

Since enzymes can easily lose their activity during feed processing and preservation, they need to be specially protected by targeted mutation technology or made into specific dosage forms. There is still a need to standardize the enzyme activity index and its determination method.
